WAR RISK

With world politics and international relations being volatile right now, many of the insurance companies that we deal with have found it necessary to implement procedures and coverages related to war areas and other “hot spots.”

Please be aware that most insurance contracts have always excluded the peril of war. In some cases, this peril can be added to a contract, usually for an additional premium charge. A&AI does have a small number of both property and medical policies in which the customer has chosen to purchase the additional war risk coverage.

We do not see that many of our customers will be affected by this situation, as most have moved out of harm’s way during recent world events. Very few short-term volunteer trips have gone into “hot spot” areas. However, we are prepared for those relief-related groups who are currently getting ready to get into damaged areas as soon as they possibly can.

Many of our insurance programs, however, are not affected by current international affairs because they absolutely exclude the insurance peril of war and related causes. Please contact A&AI to determine if war risk coverage may be relevant and available to your organization and its missionaries.
