CRISIS MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Services are available to assist a sending organization with pre-incident training, analysis of travel security, and crisis negotiation. These services are provided by an expert global risk crisis management company. They can be purchased in conjunction with a kidnap and ransom policy, with or without coverage for ransom payment. We are aware of many organizations that choose not to have coverage that pays ransom money, because this coverage can make missionaries targets for extortion while they are in the field. Regardless, insured persons will receive kidnap and ransom negotiation services, in addition to several other valuable features. Access to an Internet-based information site provides hot spot alerts, country risk analysis, and other intelligence briefings to help the sending organization and volunteers make informed travel decisions.
Kidnap and extortion are very real and growing threats. While the most vulnerable companies to kidnapping are those that have employees based or travelling overseas, organizations that have high profiles, handle large amounts of cash, or work with sensitive information or technologies are equally at risk. Mission sending organizations need to prepare for these threats, which can originate or occur virtually anywhere in the world
